‘Final Fantasy XIV’ is releasing a cookbook

Bringing video games to life through live action is one thing, but getting to experience the taste, aroma, and flavor of your favorite video game dishes is a whole different level.

Final Fantasy XIV is stepping up its merchandise game by releasing a cookbook that features 70—that’s right, 70—dishes found in Square Enix’s eight-year-old MMORPG called The Ultimate Final Fantasy 14 Cookbook.

The cookbook is set to have 192 pages and a foreword from director and producer, Naoki Yoshida.

Although a little bit peculiar in terms of video game merchandise, a cookbook shouldn’t be all that surprising especially when it comes to a huge franchise like Final Fantasy. Given that in Final Fantasy XV, its detailed and eye-catching dishes are mouthwatering, enough to cause a player’s tongue to be curious.

However, the cookbook hasn’t been officially announced by Square Enix yet. Twitter user Wario64 has managed to take screenshots from the Simon & Schuster website, where the soon-to-be retailed cookbook was immediately changed to the name: Licensed Video Game Cookbook.

"Featuring favourite flavours from across Hydaelyn and Norvrandt and easy-to-follow instructions, this tome provides numerous tips on how to make the most of your ingredients. Start your day with Farmer's breakfast, a very famous and simple-yet-delightful dish; savour the Knight's Bread of Coerthas; dive into La Noscea's Rolanberry Cheesecake, and many more," said the now-deleted description.

Recently, Final Fantasy XIV, had broken its player count record with almost 49,000 returning players last July 6.

With the video game’s sudden surge of players and popularity, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Square Enix capitalize on it. The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook is set to be released in November this year.
