Maisey O’Donnell, a two-time state diving champion, passed away at age 18.

PEOPLE Magazine reported that she died in a car crash in Florida along with two of her classmates: Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman.

The accident took place in the evening of Monday, April 21 on Highway 98 in Walton County—just over a month before their high school graduation. Their SUV collided with a tractor-trailer.

McIntosh and Wasserman were declared dead at the scene. O’Donnell was brought to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead later on. Another unidentified student who was also inside the vehicle is still in critical condition, according to CBS News.

Citing authorities, E! Online reported that the driver and passenger of the tractor-trailer were left unharmed.

O’Donnell was a senior student at Concord-Carlisle High School. Per CBS News, she helped her school bag a win at the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association earlier this 2025—for the third time in a row.

In a statement sent to WCVB, a TV station in Boston, Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter expressed her grief over the tragic deaths of their students.

"We offer our deep condolences to the families and friends of Hannah and Jimmy during this unimaginable time. Their loss will be deeply felt by our school community as well as by so many families in Carlisle and Concord," she said.

Hunter later learned about O'Donnell's passing and issued a new statement, where she revealed that O'Donnell "is in the organ donation program as her family hopes that it will give meaning to these meaningless tragedies."

In an Instagram post in September, the champion diver bared her plan to go to Williams College after high school.
