Seven months after teasing fans with a first-look video, Marvel Entertainment has finally unveiled the official trailer for its much-awaited superhero ensemble movie, Avengers: Doomsday.

The preview puts an end to months of speculation over which heroes will make the cut. Packed with action from start to finish, the trailer wastes no time in delivering major reveals, including the film’s central villain, surprise cameos, hero team-ups, and the current Avengers and X-Men lineup.

To help you break down all the action at the newest chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, here are some of the jaw-dropping reveals we spotted.

Professor X and Magneto reunite

From inside Xavier’s Mansion, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) gazes out the window at the impending incursion that threatens to destroy their entire reality. Later on, a scene shows him reuniting with Magneto (Ian McKellen) over a game of chess.

The teaser also confirms the return of the original X-Men cast—including Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique—alongside Channing Tatum’s Gambit.

Closer look at Doctor Doom

One of the first reveals are definitive looks at the movie's big bad, played by a not-so-secret actor, Robert Downey Jr. We see his side profile, featuring more details in his suit and mask. Fans are treated to parts of his shoulder armor, a star-shaped insignia attached to a chain, locking his fabric cape in place. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, you'll see Doom in his detailed metal mask with his eyes wide open.

Thor, The Fantastic Four, The New Avengers, Captain America and Ant-Man in one room

The Thunderbolts* movie ended with just the team discussing otherworldly threats amongst themselves with a tease at an incoming superhero team. Now the cat's out of the bag as we finally see Thor, The Fantastic Four, The New Avengers, Sam Wilson's Captain America and Ant-Man convene as yet another possible team-up. The X-Men, while already revealed to be in the movie, are conspicuously out of the picture.

Gambit versus Shang-Chi

Completing the list of first looks is a battle between X-Man Gambit and budding Avenger Shang-Chi as they let out a good show of powers. Viewers of the first Shang-Chi movie may not be surprised to see the oriental warrior played by Simu Liu make his way back, but fans will surely be delighted as Channing Tatum is confirmed to play the Ragin' Cajun again since 2024's Deadpool and Wolverine

TVA Loki is back

While not the exact Loki (Tom Hiddleston) from the main timeline, this Disney+ series variant—having survived a timeline purge—is set for an inevitable reunion with his adoptive brother, Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

Mystique’s new hair

Rebecca Romijn is undoubtedly iconic as Mystique since the X-Men movies in the 2000's. For her comeback two decades later, she now sports a new loose hairdo, reminiscent of her comic look, instead of her usual slicked-back style. She's now draped in comic-accurate white too before mimicking yet another hero.

Doctor Doom stops Thor’s attack

Arguably a money shot, Thor's full-blast lightning-infused attack is once again blocked by a sinister villain, reminiscent of another showdown in Thor: Ragnarok. This showcases the full extent of Doom's power, establishing him as a superhuman capable of stopping a god.

Steve Rogers retrieves the Mjolnir

Finally, the cherry on top. Thor gives an old comrade a chance to prove himself the only way he can. An unarmed Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was able to summon a fragmented Mjolnir to his hand, showing him to be worthy to take on another battle after coming out of retirement.
