Filipino actress Dolly de Leon got an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, the 10,000-plus member United States organization behind the annual Academy Awards or Oscars, which is considered the highest accolade in the film industry.

ABC News reported on Thursday, June 29 that the Academy extended invitations to 398 individuals comprising actors, directors, and executives.

High-profile invitees include singers Taylor Swift, Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan, Elvis actor Austin Butler, and Nope actress Keke Palmer. RnB singer The Weeknd, who's starring in his co-created drama series The Idol, also got an invite.

De Leon on Twitter said "Intense!" in response to Hollywood journalist Janet Nepales tweeting the news.

De Leon rose to global fame for her role in class satire Triangle of Sadness. She portrayed Abigail, a toilet cleaner turned captain of the ship for the uberwealthy.

Her breakout performance earned her over 15 international nods, including the 80th Golden Globe Awards, 48th Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and The Satellite Awards 2022

Her last award was best supporting actress at the Guldbagge Awards in Sweden.

To date, De Leon is working with Kathryn Bernardo for the dark comedy A Very Good Girl.
