Dolly De Leon wins Best Supporting Actress in Sweden film awards for 'Triangle of Sadness'
Filipino actress Dolly De Leon won Best Supporting Actress at the Guldbagge Awards in Sweden for her role in the black-class satire Triangle of Sadness.
De Leon bested Carla Sehn (Stammisar), Liv Mjönes (Tack for the Last Time), and Marika Lindström (Burn All My Letters).
Triangle of Sadness also won Best Movie, Best Direction for Ruben Östlund; Best Supporting Actor for Zlatko Burić who portrayed communism-spouting Russian oligarch Dimitry; Best Costume Design for Sophie Krunegaard; and Best Mask Design for Stefanie Gredig.
In the movie, De Leon portrayed toilet manager Abigail who suddenly takes charge of the uberwealthy luxury cruise ship passengers after their ride capsizes and leaves them stranded on an island.
She has since received several international recognition for her portrayal, including historic nominations from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Golden Globe Awards.
The Guldbagge Awards have been honoring achievements in the Swedish film industry since 1964.
