Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures announce cast for 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' series reboot
Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios has just revealed the cast for the series reboot of the '90s American slasher horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer.
In an exclusive report published by entertainment website Deadline, a new group of young adults will be at the center of the TV adaptation.
Teen stars Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom and Bill Heck are all set to headline the upcoming horror series, a modern retelling of the 1997 slasher film.
According to the report, production is set to begin this month in Hawaii. The show lists James Wan, Shay Hatten, Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear as executive producers. Craig Macneill will be directing the first episode while Sara Goodman is writing the script.
While details about the characters are scant as of the moment, the report says that it’s likely that Iseman will play the role of Julie James, the lead character portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt in the original film.
The modern remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer will follow the same storyline and formula where: “In a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.”
Loosely based on the 1973 novel by Lois Duncan, the original film starred Hewitt (Julie James), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Helen Shivers), Ryan Phillippe (Barry Cox), Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ray Bronson), Bridgette Wilson (Elsa Shivers), Anne Heche (Melissa "Missy" Egan), Muse Watson (Ben Willis / Fisherman) Johnny Galecki (Max Neurick) and Stuart Greer (Officer David Caporizon).
