WATCH: 'The White Lotus' teases brewing tension, murder in official trailer for Season 3
The official trailer for the third season of The White Lotus is out now.
The upcoming installment will feature new guests—from a troubled couple, family, to reunited friends—vacationing at an exclusive resort in Thailand.
The nearly three-minute trailer opened with a montage of sex, a gun, and some screaming. It also ran a voiceover that said, “At the end of the week, you will be an entirely different person. What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand.”
The exclusive hotel, dubbed “the best in the world,” teased brewing tension among the vacationers. Mid-trailer, a voiceover said, “Everyone comes to Thailand, they’re either hiding from someone or they’re looking for someone.”
The clip showed trouble in paradise as Jason Isaacs’ character was seen tensed on a call worrying about going to prison, while a masked gunman ambushed a luxury shop. A White Lotus guard was also seen praying and doing a practice shoot, while also lamenting, “I don’t want to hurt anyone,” to which Lisa’s character replied in Thai, “You have to be stronger than this to do this job.”
The trailer ended with a chaotic montage of partying, a gun, more screaming, troubled relationships, and a body bag.
“Someone once said, the secret to life is knowing when to stop,” a man said in the background.
The new ensemble consists of Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett who is traveling with his free-spirited girlfriend Chelsea, played by Aimee Lou Wood, as well as reunited trio Carrie Coon as Laurie, Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn, and Leslie Bibb as Kate.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa is also making her acting debut as Mook, one of the staff at The White Lotus.
Returning to the series is Natasha Rothwell who will reprise her role as Belinda Lindsey, a spa manager who is in Thailand for an exchange program.
Also joining the cast is Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff, a wealthy businessman, his wife Victoria, played by Parker Posey, and their three children played by Patrick Schwarzenegger (Saxon), Sarah Catherine Hook (Piper), and Sam Nivola (Lochlan).
The third season is created and directed by Mike White. It will be available for streaming on Max starting Feb. 16.
