The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Building was illuminated with rainbow colors on Wednesday evening (June 23) to celebrate Pride Month.

“The facade lights up with the Pride rainbow colors, a reminder to the world's promise of equality, freedom and justice for all,” said CCP in a news release.

“Remembering the uprising at the Stonewall Inn in 1969, the facade show is the Center's way of recognizing and honoring the contributions made by the LGBTQIA+ community to social development throughout history,” they added.

The rainbow lights were complemented with cut-out patterns or gobos, inserted in special theater light equipment.

According to CCP, the design was a collaboration effort of the Production Design and Technical Services Division personnel and the Theater Crew, under the guidance of Ricardo Eric Cruz, chief of the CCP’s Production Design and Technical Division.

This is the third time that the CCP joined the Pride celebration, starting in 2019, but this year marks the longest lighting event so far.

Catch the CCP Pride Lighting Show daily, except Monday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m, from June 23 to 30, 2021.
