EXO's D.O. to drop solo debut album ‘Empathy’ on July 26

Fans of the main EXO vocalist better prepare their wallets now, because we got an exact date of release!

On midnight of July 1 (Korea Standard Time), member D.O. of Korean boy group EXO announced that he would be releasing his first mini album on July 26.

The official release date was revealed via the group’s official Twitter account, accompanied by a first teaser image, a black-and-white photo showing the youthful singer jumping in a field.

Since the announcement, Kyungsoo, which is the singer’s real name, was trending on the K-pop topic on Twitter, along with keywords “The 1st Mini Album.”

#DO_1stSOLO and #DO_SOLOISCOMING were also trending on the South Korean trends and Worldwide trends.

SM Entertainment officially announced this morning via fan community app LYSN that his first mini album, titled “공감” or Empathy will consist of six new songs and two bonus tracks, where we can meet his “sweet tone and warm sensibility.”

D.O., who finished his military service last January 25, was the sixth member of EXO to get his own solo album, following members Lay, Chen, Baekhyun, Suho and Kai.

Referred to by fans and media outlets alike as the “final boss of vocal tone,” the singer has participated in digital singles, collaborations, featurings and original soundtracks prior to his solo debut.

He has also established his name in the acting industry and showcased his skills as a versatile actor in movies Cart, Unforgettable, Room No. 7, and Swing Kids, among many others, and drama series, such as It's Ok, This is Love, and 100 Days My Prince, where he played male lead Lee Yul / Na Won-deuk.

He is currently working on the film The Moon with veteran actor Sol Kyung Gyu and The World of the Married actress Kim Hee Ae, and is also confirmed to star in the Korean remake of the 2007 Taiwanese film, Secret.

Pre-orders for his first mini album starts today, July 1.
