Awkward moment: Olivia Rodrigo unknowingly asks brother and sister to kiss at 'GUTS' concert

Published Oct 19, 2024 2:03 pm

Olivia Rodrigo had a hilarious moment when she unknowingly asked siblings to kiss during one of her concerts.

The awkward scene took place when the singer was performing for her recent GUTS World Tour stop in Sydney, Australia.

Spotting two attendees in the audience who appeared to be a couple, she said, "You guys are so cute."

"Hey, I have a really cute fun thing to ask. Would you guys give us a kiss on the Guts Cam?" she asked.

While the crowd cheered over Rodrigo’s request, the two immediately shut down the question, with the man, Tom Santo, signaling that the person he was with was actually his sister.

Shocked, Rodrigo quickly called it off as she exclaimed: "She’s your sister? Oh sh*t! Oh sh*t! Never mind, never mind, scrap that."

"Oh God, that hasn’t happened before. This is the first time. I'm actually surprised that that hasn't happened," she continued.

Santo later posted a video of the incident on his TikTok account with the caption, "Olivia Rodrigo asking my sister and I to kiss was not on my 2024 bingo card."

@tjsant06 Sorry to disapoint you @Olivia Rodrigo but that would be my sister. If anyone has other POVs please send them to me if you can! #oliviarodrigo #gutsworldtour #kisscam #sydney #gutssydney #gutssydnetnight1 #kisscamgonewrong #gutstour ♬ original sound - tom santo

The music artist got wind of his post and commented, "I AM SO SORRY," to which Tom replied jokingly, "We can recreate the kiss cam if you would like!???"

Olivia is currently in Australia for her GUTS world tour. She recently performed at the Philippine Arena for her special Silver Star Show, which was her "biggest venue ever."

"[Been] dreaming of this show for a [while]," she said. "Thank you to everyone Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved."

Proceeds went to her chosen non-government organization, Jhpiego, via Fund 4 Good, a global initiative committed to building an equitable and just future for women and girls.

"I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines," Rodrigo said.
