Olivia Rodrigo donates Philippine show's net ticket sales to Jhpiego
Fil-Am singer Olivia Rodrigo donated to a nonprofit organization the net ticket sales of her GUTS World Tour Philippine leg on Oct. 5.
In an Instagram post on Oct. 6, Rodrigo shared a carousel that included a video of her on-stage, a photo of her wearing a "Miss So Filipina" sash, a shot of a boodle fight, and snaps of her meeting with Jhpiego.
In the caption, the 21-year-old noted that it was her first time performing in the Philippines, and it was her "biggest venue ever."
"[Been] dreaming of this show for a [while]," she said. "Thank you to everyone Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved."
She said she's "so stoked" that her show's net ticket sales will be donated to Jhpiego via her Fund 4 Good, a global initiative committed to building an equitable and just future for women and girls.
"I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines," Rodrigo said.
"It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. to say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita."
Rodrigo arrived in Manila on Oct. 3 before her GUTS concert at the Philippine Arena.
The GUTS World Tour concert film will be streamed on Netflix starting Oct. 29.
Rodrigo first became known for appearing on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark and the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Her hit songs include driver's license, deja vu, and good 4 u, which earned her three Grammys.
Affiliated with the leading Johns Hopkins University, Jhpiego provides reproductive health care access, HIV/ AIDS and infectious disease prevention, and education, among others.
The countries it helps include the Philippines, Tunisia, Brazil, Kenya, Nigeria, and Thailand.
