BLACKPINK’s label holds worldwide 'Audition At Home' for upcoming boy group
Korean talent agency YG Entertainment has announced that they’re opening auditions for worldwide talents to debut in an all-new boy group.
ICYDK, YG Entertainment is one of the most popular entertainment agencies in Korea, as they've trained and marketed popular acts such as BLACKPINK, 2NE1, PSY, BIGBANG, and more.
Taking to social media to announce the auditions, the label called forth aspiring performers born between 2002 and 2010, regardless of nationality, to prepare a performance ranging from “vocal, rap, dance, appearance or talents.”
It might be puzzling to think that only 10 and 19-year olds are allowed to audition, but considering the Korean entertainment industry’s rigorous military-like training process, it could take years before the winners' actual debut.
If you think you've got what it takes, aspiring artists can start the audition process through Google Forms here. If accepted, YG will contact the the applicants with a time and schedule for a one-on-one Zoom video with a casting manager.
Applications are ongoing until May 23, and results will be announced on June 12 this year.
