Getting into ‘super’ shape: Brie Larson gears up for ‘Captain Marvel 2’ with intense workouts
With production for Captain Marvel 2—retitled The Marvels—underway, star Brie Larson gave a glimpse of the intense workout routine that makes a superhero.
Anyone who follows Larson on Instagram knows that she loves sharing videos of her training and workout. She even has a complete home gym clad in Captain Marvel colors and logos.
"How many pieces of workout equipment does it take to become a superhero? All of them!" she wrote.
In the video, the Oscar winner is doing squats on a flywheel box while wielding a hefty kettlebell as her trainer, Jason Walsh, cheers her on.
In another recent post, Larson evoked the ‘90s vibe from the first Captain Marvel film, adding a VCR tape filter on the video of her doing pushups with a tension band.
The actress also recently picked up archery. Acting, singing, gaming, and now archery—is there anything she can't do?
Larson plays former US Air Force pilot Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain Marvel (2019), who obtains cosmic powers after being exposed to the energy of the Tesseract. She joins the Avengers to save mankind from Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and will return in The Marvels.
Much like the first movie, we can expect to see exciting action sequences in The Marvels—which Larson is preparing for physically. The Captain Marvel sequel is directed by Candyman's Nia DaCosta and will star Teyonah Parris, Samuel L. Jackson, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon.
