"Whenever I see girls and boys selling lanterns on the street..."

The "ber" months haven't arrived yet, but who could blame you if you began singing Jose Mari Chan's iconic Christmas songs as early as now? It comes as no wonder because as soon as August started, many Pinoy netizens went about flooding social media feeds with memes featuring the warm smiling face of the famed singer-songwriter.

Chan has been a huge part of Christmas in the Philippines for his songs Christmas in Our Hearts, A Perfect Christmas, Mary’s Boy Child, and more, which have become the season's anthem in households, malls, jeepneys, radio stations, internet, and basically everywhere you go. These iconic songs touched the hearts of many Filipinos, that it prompted internet users to create memes about Chan.

Here are a few of the funniest Chan-and-Christmas memes we found online to remind us that the season is fast approaching and there's no better way to start it than with a good laugh.

They say Christmas is best spent in the arms of your special someone. In case you haven't found the one for you just yet, here's the King of Christmas Carols reminding you that it's time to hurry up.

Filipino rapper Dello shared a John Wick poster made by Arjay Abalos where the titular character will be played by Chan instead of Keannu Reeves. Talk about being unstoppable!

One Facebook page posted a status complaint that Chan is all set to sing his Christmas carols again, while the waiting game for its long-overdue national ID continues.

One Facebook user began counting down the days to September with a novena, a.k.a. the lyrics to Chan's songs, in honor of the singer.

What happens when the clock hits 12:00 a.m. on September 1st? Check under your bed. A sketch comedy curated by Sskait on Twitter shows us a thrilling take on Jose Mari Chan’s comeback, and it has a boogeyman edge to it.

It’s hard not to get too excited when September is just a day away. In a hilarious post from a Facebook page, Chan is shown as Sun Baby from Teletubbies excited to make his annual debut.

Not gonna lie, Filipino historian Michael “Xiao” Chua had us on the first half! Chua shared a satirical reaction on Facebook about the resurfacing of the Jose Mari Chan memes which ended with him restating the lyrics to Christmas in Our Hearts.

One tweet also asked us to wait a little longer as Chan is still tuning his guitar.
