Things are heating up for Filipino tennis star Alex Eala as she is now set to compete in the semifinals of the Miami Open.

Eala, who is ranked No. 140, moved up after she defeated World No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland in a 6 to 2 and 7 to 5 match in the quarterfinals.

In the semifinals, Eala will go up against World No. 4 Jessica Pegula from America, who won her quarterfinals match with Britain's Emma Raducanu.

If you're eager to see how the rising tennis player will fare in the much-anticipated round, you can tune in to the match live through the Premier Sports 2 channel available on Cignal TV channel 273.

Subscribers must first purchase the Sports and Action Theme Pack for P300 through Maya, GCash, or any Cignal and Smart load retailers.

You can also catch her match live on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, ANC, and the ABS-CBN News YouTube channel at 8 a.m. on March 28.

Premier Sports 2 content is also available on BlastTV for free. It is accessible via the web, smart TVs, and apps for iOS and Android.

The upcoming match will take place on March 28 at 8:30 a.m. (Philippine time).

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Eala said she's looking forward to facing either Raducanu or Pegula, but acknowledged that they're challenging opponents.

"It's going to be difficult. Either way, a set of problems will be presented, and I have to step up. I have to deal with them. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen," she said.

"All I can say is I'm so excited, and I am willing to die on the court tomorrow," she joked.

Prior to victory in the quarterfinals, Eala won against former French Open champion and world No. 25 Jelena Ostapenko and reigning Australian Open champion and World No. 5 Madison Keys.

She has now made history after becoming the first woman from the Philippines to beat a Top 10 opponent since the ranking system came into being 50 years ago.
