Actors who played ‘The Doctor’ in British sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’ reunite to pay tribute to all of the frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

In the short video, each of the incarnation of The Doctor gave their heartfelt gratitude to the real-life doctors and nurses who are risking their lives amid the health crisis.

“Tonight we have all come together for one important reason: to praise, salute and give heartfelt thanks to real-life special doctors, nurses, and everyone working on the phone lines in our NHS and care homes and hospices,” they said.

“What you all do and have done for all of us is amazing, crucial, phenomenal, incredible, inspirational and truly life-saving. Thank you,” they added.

The clip features past and current iterations of the Time Lord including Jodie Whittaker (13th), Peter Capaldi (12th), Peter Davidson (5th), David Tennant (10th), Colin Baker (6th), Tom Baker (4th), Matt Smith (11th), Paul McGann (Eight) and Sylvester McCoy (7th) and Jo Martin.

Whittaker, who is now in her second season playing the titular role, is the first female actor to play the enigmatic time-travelling alien.

The recently concluded season 12 of the BBC series showed us some familiar faces like Stephen Fry, who played a cameo role during the New Year Day special as well as John Barrowman, who reprised his iconic role as Captain Jack Harkness.

Whittaker’s second season in the franchise also introduced us with a new incarnation of the Master, played by Sacha Dhawan and Jo Martin’s hidden Doctor. Apart from the return of the classic monsters like the Cybermen and the Judoon, the last season’s climactic ending also revealed the dark history behind the emergence of the Time Lords.
