‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’ coming to Nintendo Switch
Get ready Switch fans! Marvel Games and Square Enix’s Guardians of the Galaxy will also be available on Nintendo Switch as a streaming Cloud Version on October 26, 2021.
Published by Square Enix and developed by Eidos-Montréal in collaboration with Marvel Games, the action-packed, story-driven, single-player, third-person adventure game is set to show a different side of Marvel’s beloved rogue superheroes.
Here’s the synopsis: Fire up Star-Lord’s jet boots for a wild ride across the cosmos in this third-person action-adventure game, a fresh take on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. With the unpredictable Guardians at your side, blast your way from one explosive situation to another, with original and iconic Marvel characters caught in a struggle for the fate of the universe. You got this. Probably.
The game was officially announced during Square Enix’s E3 2021 Showcase with a worldwide trailer announcement and gameplay footage, and was initially revealed to only support the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
Fear not Switch users! Star Lord aka Peter Quill’s dynamic combat style can finally be experienced on Nintendo Switch though its cloud version. This means players will need a strong high-speed internet connection and a Nintendo Account, a feat some fans found disappointing. Luckily, a Nintendo Online membership is not required.
Switch players can also choose their preferred gaming style—TV mode, Tabletop mode, and even handheld.
However, sad news for physical game collectors, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will only be available on the Nintendo eShop. As of now, only a standard version of the game will be available and no further announcements or plans for a deluxe edition or DLCs have been revealed.
