Did you know that Kween Yasmin was crying for real during the creation of the crying Kweenmoji?
Kween Yasmin was crying for real while her photo was being taken to create the crying Kweenmoji—and the reason would make you say "Awww."
The social media star, whose real name is Yasmin Marie Asistido, made the rounds online in late November following the launch of her collaboration with Canva that includes Kweenmojis (Kween Yasmin emojis).
In a chat with PhilSTAR L!fe on Monday, Dec. 15, Kween Yasmin revealed that she did let out real tears when she was asked to cry during her photoshoot so that graphic designers could successfully make the crying Kweenmoji.
The online personality recalled asking the Canva team to play a sad song so she could cry.
“Sabi ko, magpatugtog sila ng Iingatan Ka,” she revealed. “Kasi I dedicated that to my mom in heaven.”
Kween Yasmin's mother passed away nine years ago. In a March post on Facebook, she paid tribute to her late parent to mark the latter's ninth death anniversary. “I love you so much and I miss you," she wrote. "I know [you're proud of me for my] accomplishments. Ikaw ang kalakasan ko at kahinaan ko sa bawat pag-usad ko. Ikaw ang dahilan upang mas tatagan ko pa lalo sa bawat karera na aking tinatahak at mas lalo ko pang gagalingan at huhusayan. Love you, my mom.”
Available for Canva Pro users, the All-Purpose Font was launched on Nov. 25 under Canva’s “Ey-setts," which you can use for advertisements, branding, social media posts, and more. It features photo libraries, including the "Kween of Signs," where Kween Yasmin holds blank banners you can put text on; photos for (wet) marketing, "fashown," food content, or at home.
Aside from Kweenmojis, the “All-Purpose Font” includes big and small letters, numbers, and punctuation.
In a previous interview with L!fe, the social media personality said she didn’t expect it to go viral and reach wide audiences, even foreign social media platforms.
"Hindi ko in-expect na pagising ko, kinabukasan, saan-saan na pong panig na papadpad... mga iba't ibang pages sa mga iba't ibang governor na. Tapos may na-reach out din kanina na napadpad din sa mga Korean and Chinese na page," she shared. "Tapos ginamit din 'yung article ng Canva page na Kween Sans na alphabetical order. So, very super nice."
