Comedy couple Jo Koy (real name Joseph Herbert) and Chelsea Handler have called it quits.

They made the announcement a few days shy of their first anniversary, and in true Jo Koy and Chelsea fashion, they did it with a lot of love and respect.

"I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us," she began.

Chelsea went on to gush over how Jo Koy opened her heart and changed her life forever: "To be loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He renewed my faith in men, in love, in being 100% who I am, and I’ve never been more optimistic for the future."

"This is not an ending. It’s another beginning, and it’s a comfort to know that I am still loved and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun," she added.

"So, please continue to root for both of us, because you never know what life will bring."

She ended the announcement with words of encouragement for her longtime friend and ex-beau: "YOUR PERSON IS COMING."

In the video shot before they broke up, the two happily announced their first anniversary, with Jo Koy wearing a fake hand and accidentally hitting Chelsea's teeth. The former couple laughed off the incident.

Meanwhile, the Filipino comedian also shared that she and Chelsea will remain friends and keep their love for each other.

"I’m her biggest fan and I can’t wait for you all to see what she has in store for the future," Jo Koy wrote along with a photo of the two holding their dogs, Bert and Beatrice.

"Keep killing it Chelsea! Mahal kita!"

Jo Koy and Chelsea confirmed their relationship in September of 2021.

They had been friends several years prior due to their connections to the comedy world, dating back to when Jo was a panelist on Chelsea’s late-night talk show Chelsea Lately in 2007.
