Sandara Park addressed comments about her being one of the richest female singers in the K-pop industry even as she revealed that she has no savings or investments at the moment.

In a recent Look Me Up episode, the K-pop idol responded to Internet users who were wondering how she has maintained a wealthy lifestyle even after her stint with defunct girl group 2NE1.

“I was just reading the Top 5 wealthiest female singers. It was IU, Lee Hyori, Sandara Park, BoA, and Suzy in order,” a netizen wrote in a thread.

“How is Sandara Park so wealthy?” another one asked.

“Is she good at managing her finances?” said a user.

Reacting to the viral thread on a forum, the Korean star said that most of her money comes from international endorsements.

“People close to me also wondered how Dara gets her money to do so much shopping. I almost got angry,” she opened up, referring to comments about her wealth.

“I didn’t work a lot locally but I did a lot of commercials overseas,” she revealed, adding that her popularity in Southeast Asia let her earn “quite large ad fees.”

“I was consistently making good money and people looked down on me and all back then. I was a bit angry. I want to go shopping with the money I made. However, I failed to invest, totally,” she added.

Sandara also opened up about finances and not being able to multiply money through investing. “Not a single investment, I don’t even save,” she said with a laugh. “I should now.”

Sandara first gained popularity in the Philippines when she joined ABS-CBN's Star Circle Quest in 2004 before making her K-pop debut in 2009 under 2NE1 with the nickname “Dara.” The group disbanded in 2016, with Sandara and the rest of the members—Park Bom, CL, and Minzy—pursuing solo projects in the years that followed.

She is set to release her first solo album this month.
