Months after their split, Kylie Verzosa says relationship with Jake Cuenca was 'beautiful'
Kylie Verzosa believes her previous relationship with Jake Cuenca is not a "failed" one and sees it as "something beautiful."
The actress and beauty queen talked about her previous relationship with the actor in her interview with television host Boy Abunda on his YouTube channel last Jan. 1.
The discussion began when the "King of Talk" asked about the things that hurt her. Verzosa mentioned heartbreak and not being able to achieve her dreams.
Abunda later encouraged the beauty queen to talk more about heartbreak and, without mentioning names, she replied, "So hard... Ang tagal ko na siyang hindi nababalikan. Siguro it's been six months. It's hard. Happy ako where I am now."
The TV host then pointed out that "everybody knows" the heartbreak she is referring to is "that relationship that didn't work with Jake" and asked her to elaborate on that.
Kylie and Jake were together for three years before calling it quits in April 2022. Looking back, the actress said that their relationship is not one that failed—it simply ended.
"I wouldn't want to call it na 'It didn't work out,' no. Maybe it ended," she said. "I hear from people na it's a failed relationship, na it didn't work out, pero hindi ko po siya kino-consider na ganoon."
"We both learned from the relationship, we both benefited from the relationship. I think it's a good relationship. We became better people. I believe that who we are today as a contribution of that relationship," she continued.
"We were different people when we started the relationship and when we ended the relationship. I believe that we are both better people.
She also shared that the breakup came after a long process. Although she admitted she was the one who saw it coming, she shared that they "both came to terms with it eventually."
Regarding to the cause of their breakup, Verzosa shared she wasn’t sure of any specific reason. “No one knows, Tito Boy,” the actress-beauty queen said, “[and] to be honest, I prefer to keep it that way,” she added.
Moreover, Verzosa shared that she wants to keep it in the past and she believes what they had was beautiful.
"I want to keep it that way. And what we had is I believe beautiful. I wanna keep it that way. I don't want to tarnish anyone's name, I don't want to destroy anything, pero it could be something between the both of us," Kylie said.
Despite their breakup, she sees Jake Cuenca as a good person, "He is such a good person, Tito Boy, a great actor," she said. "A lot of things I know now is because of him, and I owe him a lot," she added.
The actress further shared that although she “loves being in love,” she is not ready for another relationship yet.
