Jake Cuenca explains his viral crying photo months after split with Kylie Verzosa

The shock that comes with breaking up with your special someone may lead people to do things that are a bit uncharacteristic of them.

For actor Jake Cuenca, it was posting a crying photo of himself on his Instagram story after confirming his split with Kylie Versoza back in April.

After eight months, the actor looked back on his actions and explained the reason why he posted the picture in an interview with Boy Abunda on his YouTube channel.

Abunda opened the topic by asking Cuenca what he knows and doesn't know about love in his current state, to which he answered, "When it comes to love, you can't really regret things, because when it was there, it made me very happy, and now that it's not there, I can't hate it. [I] can only look back at it with joy, but it also makes me sad because it's not there anymore."

Abunda then asked about the reason behind the photo of Cuenca in tears, and the actor said that it was brought about by "pain" and "loss."

"I think that was an accumulation of the things that had happened to me in the pandemic. In a weird way, this is a reset for me and I told myself na, I wanted this to be a reintroduction of what I can do as an actor,” he explained.

Cuenca shared that he has embraced pain as his friend and learned that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows, prompting him to try and see the beauty in every situation.

When asked about his plans for the future, the 34-year-old actor said that "a whole lot is to come."

"I am looking forward to what's going to happen. I do mean it when I feel like I have an abundance in me. I feel like the three years made me so hungry and to be honest, I want my characters and my projects to speak for me, rather than me trying to sell them," he said.

Cuenca and Versoza confirmed their relationship on the talk show Tonight with Boy Abunda in 2019 following dating rumors surrounding the pair. But in April this year, Cuenca took to Instagram to announce the end of their three-year romance.

However, they seemed to have parted ways on a good note as Jake shared that they both wanted to be able to look back on their relationship with no bitterness and regrets. He also said that he will always be sending love and positivity toward Kylie.
