Claudine Barretto denies undergoing lipo to lose weight: 'Pinaghirapan ko po talagang magpapayat'
Claudine Barretto denied claims she underwent a liposuction procedure to help with her 84-pound weight loss that she achieved in just two months.
The veteran actress commented on the matter on Instagram as she shared a screenshot of her reply in the comments section of her previous post.
“Just wanted to remind everyone that I lost 84 pounds, ‘di po ako nagpa lipo,” she wrote.
“Kailangan ko nga magpa-lipo or ipatanggal 'yung excess skin [because] impossible maglose ng 84 pounds ng walang excess skin,” she continued.
“Pinaghirapan ko po talagang magpapayat,” she said.
“Thank God, arms ko lang ang nagsag, other parts ng katawan ko ‘[di] nagsag,” she added.
“Pasensya na po, [‘di] po ako perfect [and] thank [you] for not being judgmental,” she concluded her post.
Claudine first opened up about her weight loss journey in August 2023, sharing that she was able to lose 84 pounds in just two months by doing intermittent fasting.
"Intermittent fasting talaga. I do 24 hours, then do 20 hours, and then tuloy-tuloy na. It became a habit already," Claudine said in an interview, adding that she only ate at four in the afternoon.
She admitted that losing weight was no easy feat, but she was able to resist her cravings by distracting herself and sleeping early.
"I clean and clean and clean para makalimutan ko. And I tried to sleep early talaga and I [tried] to wake up late. Tinatagalan ko 'yung tulog ko,” she said. She also warned viewers to consult with a professional before starting a weight-loss plan.
Claudine said she began taking better care of her body when she returned to television last year to headline the Bisita episode of Wish Ko Lang as part of its month-long 20th-anniversary specials. She was able to lose about 60 pounds at that time.
The veteran actress is known for her roles in classic films and series like Marina, Mula sa Puso, 2002 film Got 2 Believe, and Milan. She currently stars in the GMA 7 series Lovers/Liars with Michelle Vito, Christian Vasquez, and Ara Mina, among others.
