GAT member Ethan David maintains he has never been involved in any inappropriate relationship with a minor.

David released a new statement addressing the controversial video featuring Shawn Castro and BINI members Jhoanna, Colet, and Stacey, where the group appears to make sexual remarks that some interpreted as involving a minor.

"I have always been firmly against it. The accusations being made are not only baseless but extremely damaging," he said, adding that these allegations have taken a toll on his mental health.

"It is painful to see false narratives being spread, especially ones that affect not only me but also the people close to me."

He continued to say that he gave a new statement to further shed light on the matter."

The Filipino singer and model, known in the P-pop scene, explained the video, which saw him and Castro mimicking a sexual act in front of Jhoanna on a sofa, with Stacey and Colet's voices reportedly audible in the background.

"To clarify the confusion surrounding the video, the joking comments heard in the video led to a misunderstanding that I was grooming a 13-year-old. In reality, I was the [13-year-old] being referred to. The situation being discussed dates back to a time when I was a young teenager experiencing innocent puppy love during my time in Canada," he noted.

David concluded his statement by saying he would not name the other individuals involved out of respect for their privacy. He also emphasized that the joke was “nothing more than a harmless, age-appropriate childhood experience.”

The recent statement came after David and other persons involved issued an apology.

BINI apologized to its fans as a group, writing, "We offer no excuse for our actions, reactions, and choice of words. We take full accountability. Nagkamali kami."

The girl group also asked the public to give them a "chance to reflect on and learn from our mistakes and continue to work on becoming better versions of ourselves."
