BINI issues statement regarding leaked viral video
BINI has issued an apology to address a recent controversy concerning some of their members in a leaked video.
"We know that the past couple of days have been triggering and disappointing for all of you," the P-pop girl group said. "Sincerely, we understand where all of those feelings are coming from."
They said that the video shows a "private moment" of them with friends and they did not intend to hurt anyone in the process.
"We offer no excuse for our actions, reactions, and choice of words. We take full accountability," they wrote. "Nagkamali kami."
The group said they "deeply regret" their mistake and apologized to their fans, friends, and families.
They asked the public to give them a "chance to reflect on and learn from our mistakes and continue to work on becoming better versions of ourselves."
"Maraming salamat po sa inyong malasakit, suporta at pag-unawa," they ended.
On May 7, a video featuring BINI members Jhoanna, Colet, and Stacey with GAT's Ethan David and Shawn Castro was posted online. It shows the two men mimicking a sexual act in front of Jhoanna on a sofa, while Stacey and Colet's voices are reportedly audible in the background.
Viewers pointed that the suggestive gesture and the discussion involving a minor were concerning and insensitive.
BINI rose to fame after debuting in June 2021 through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. Their popular tracks include Salamin, Salamin, Karera, and Pantropiko, to name a few.
