#AllForKathNiel, #DanRyn trend online as fans share kilig Kathryn-Daniel moments during ABS-CBN Christmas Special

Fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, also known as KathNiel, went gaga over clips of the former couple’s kilig moments on- and off-stage during this year's ABS-CBN Christmas Special.

On X, the hashtag #allforkathniel also became a trending topic, as did DanRyn, a supposed rebranding of the ex-lovers coined by their fans.

Bernardo and Padilla were among 300 Kapamilya stars who performed before hundreds of fans at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 13. The show coincided with ABS-CBN’s 70th anniversary celebration.

Their appearance was a pleasant surprise to attendees, as it marked their first since they announced their breakup on Nov. 30 after 11 years of being together.

After the show, Bernardo’s mother Min thanked KathNiel fan communities for their love, time, and effort for the loveteam despite the news.

“Sana still nandyan pa kayo no matter what,” she said in a tweet.

Here are some of Bernardo and Padilla’s moments that reinforce the former’s words that they will continue to support each other as they try to heal and move forward from the breakup.

'I’ll be there for you ‘cause you’re there for me, too'

Padilla was singing The Rembrandts’ I’ll Be There for You, which was famously used as the soundtrack of sitcom Friends, when Bernardo joined him for a duet.

They were seen smiling and looking at each other’s eyes during their song number. At one point, Padilla extends his right arm for Bernardo to reach as they dance a bit.

She was also seen touching his arm before Gary Valenciano joined them.

After their kilig performance, Padilla assisted Bernardo in getting off the stage.

He was seen holding her wrist as they walked away. He also placed his hand on her waist as other performers followed suit.

Candid moment as ex-lovers

Just because they’re exes, doesn’t mean they can no longer be on good terms.

In a viral video, Bernardo was accompanied by her bodyguard as she walked backstage. Padilla, who was waiting for her, then kissed her on the cheek as they gave each other a quick hug.

Padilla and Bernardo had more backstage moments, posing for photos with a fan.

The actress' stylist went on to glam her up while she faced Padilla, who intently watched her as they had an exchange again.

When the Kapamilya stars came together for a singalong, Bernardo and Padilla were beside each other, surrounded by their industry colleagues.

As they sang their parts, their companions couldn’t help but look at them and tease them. Padilla was seen partially covering his mouth as he smiled. 

Padilla was also seen whispering something to Bernardo as she smiled before they continued singing.

KathNiel made their debut as a love team on the teen series Growing Up in 2010. It was followed by numerous projects such as Princess and I (2012), Got to Believe (2013), She’s Dating the Gangster (2014), Pangako Sa’yo (2015), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016), La Luna Sangre (2017), and The Hows of Us (2018). 

Their onscreen romance eventually blossomed off-screen, with the two finally confirming their years-long relationship in 2018.
