Breakups of your favorite reel to real couples may leave you feeling more heartbroken than your own failed relationship, and Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's split is something that the whole Philippines won't be recovering from anytime soon.
But they say that laughter is the best medicine, and some Filipinos have already been making memes about the former couple's bombshell to lighten up everyone's mood.
Here are our favorite KathNiel breakup memes that may distract you from the heartbreak.
Have a break
Chocolate brand KitKat took advantage of Kathryn and Daniel's split by putting a twist to their famous "Have a Break" slogan.
"Some breaks even we find hard to take," KitKat wrote on their photo of their chocolate bar split in half, inserting an emoji of a broken heart at the end.
Many were amused at the brand's witty ad, saying, "Whoever is the social media manager of Kitkat—needs a raise!"
Buy one, take one forever
As Kathryn and Daniel are the endorsers of Shawarma Shack, known for its "buy one, get one free" shawarma wraps, many fans have started messaging the local food franchise once the news of the couple's split broke out.
This led the management of Shawarma Shack to assure their customers that their "buy one, get one free" promo will still be available. Talk about the perfect endorsement!
"Ang daming nagtatag sa amin. Sa sobrang dami, naghahang ang desktop namin! Sa mga nagtatanong, buy one take one pa rin tayo forever. Kaya sugod na sa pinakamalapit na Shawarma Shack," the post read.
Heartbroken mascot
It seems that the KathNiel's separation was also too much for Lazada's very own mascot, Lazzie, who could be seen sporting a sad expression on his face in a post by the e-commerce company.
Many of their customers decided to poke fun at this by teasing Lazada to give vouchers.
"Voucher drop naman diyan para sumaya naman kami," one user commented.
JaDine, LizQuen, and... ElBamboo?
Kathryn and Daniel are not the only reel to real couple whose relationship didn't last. One user posted a hilarious collage of other love teams that have either officially split, such as Nadine Lustre and James Reid as well as Kathryn and Daniel, or rumored to be, like Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
The pictures, which were colored in black and white, were taken from ABS-CBN's 2015 Christmas Station ID, where the love teams were paired with each other as they sang the song Thank You For The Love.
However, one pairing that was hilariously out of place was of singer Bamboo Mañalac and his The Voice trainee Elha Nympha, who got paired in the music video.
"Nakakalungkot sobra. Grabe ka na 2023! Please protect those two in the last photo," the poster joked.
Enrile outlives KathNiel
At 99 years old, Filipino politician Juan Ponce Enrile is often the subject of memes because of his so-called "immortality," and it seems that his long lifespan has now outlived even the Philippines' most successful love team couple.
Filipinos have now been spreading memes about Enrile sharing his thoughts on Kathryn and Daniel's breakup.
"'Yung pakiramdam ko ngayon sa KathNiel, ganyan din pakiramdam ko noon nung naghiwalay sina Samson at Delilah," Enrile was quoted saying, referring to the story taken from the Bible.

Local dessert chain Bebang HaloHalo also got in on the fun by offering a promo to all their customers who are named Kath.
"If your name is Kath, get a chance to win 1,000 Bebang voucher because you deserve better," the post read.
