Renowned Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco is among the members of the selection committee for the 73rd edition of Miss Universe in Mexico.

On Instagram, the pageant organization announced Cinco, an "acclaimed designer of luxurious gowns for Hollywood's elite," as the newest addition to the panel.

"Get ready for a dash of haute couture on the Miss Universe stage. [Michael Cinco], acclaimed designer of luxurious gowns for Hollywood's elite, joins the selection committee for the 73rd Miss Universe bringing his fashion expertise. Elegance and beauty will reign supreme!" the caption read.

Cinco will be joining the likes of renowned Italian entrepreneur Gianluca Vacchi, Brazilian artist Romero Britto, fashion designer Eva Cavalli, Miss Universe South 1978 Margaret Gardiner of South Africa, and Telemundo's Jessica Carrillo in the selection committee. Ana Barbara Coimbra, Fahsai Paweensuda Drouin, Janick Maceta del Castillo, Dr. Juan Manual Chaparro, Karla Guilfu Acevedo, R'Bonney Nola Gabriel, and Sophiya Bhujel will be choosing the silver finalists and gold winners of Voice for Change 2024.

Cinco is a Dubai-based fashion designer who has been giving pride to the Philippines with his creations that have been worn by Hollywood stars—from Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez to Britney Spears and Rihanna. He migrated to Dubai in 1997, where he also launched his fashion line six years later, in 2003. Today, the designer's diversified portfolio includes luxe suits for Steve Aoki and Nick Jonas, ball gowns for Dubai's royalties, wedding gowns for Marian Rivera and Dr. Vicki Belo, Pia Wurtzbach's iconic Miss Universe 2015 midnight blue ballgown, as well as his couture line called Impalpable Dreams.

The 2024 Miss Universe tilt is set to take place on Nov. 17 (PH time) at Arena CDMX in Mexico, with American actor and television host Mario Lopez hosting the pageant.

Chelsea Manalo is the country's representative for this year's pageant. She's aiming to take home the fifth crown for the Philippines after Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018).
