American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha hurled vicious tirades against the music industry, claiming that she has been "silenced and punished" for a long time.

In a series of posts on X, the I'm a Mess singer aired her frustrations and shared how her industry has been negatively affecting her life. She further threatened that she could "bring down a big chunk of this industry" with what she knows.

"I am frustrated. I have been undermined. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time. I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up and they have been so obvious," Rexha wrote.

"And when I have spoken up, I’ve been silenced and punished by this industry. Things must change or I’m telling all of my truths. The good the bad and the ugly," she continued.

Many of her fans expressed concern at what she's going through and asked where her rants were coming from, with one fan commenting, "What happened again?"

Rexha opted to remain ambiguous, however, and said, "Again? You haven’t even heard five percent. You have no idea."

Another fan pointed out how the singer wasn't initially credited for her part in the song Hey Mama and how "nobody should be forgiven" about it.

In response, Rexha said, "My love. That? Compared to all the other stuff you don’t know about? That’s child’s play."

Hey Mama was released in March 2015 in collaboration with David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, and Afrojack, and it wasn't until June that Rexha was officially credited in all instances of the song's mention.

In a previous interview with Billboard, Rexha explained that her lack of credit in the track was due to how "it looked like [there were] a lot of names on the title, so they wanted to keep as many low features as possible."

"I guess more than two [featured] names doesn't look good on the radio. It's tough hearing your voice on the radio, on a chorus, and knowing that people think it's another artist," she said.

The artist also addressed suggestions that she was attempting to promote her latest single, I'm The Drama, with her rants.

"Marketing? I have no budget for that. I'm fed up," she stressed.

In another post, Rexha clarified that her posts were "not just coming from a place of anger."

"It’s sadness. I’m sitting in my hotel room in London crying my eyes out. I’ve felt hopeless for the longest time. I’ve been walking a lot through this city and meeting fans and they have really ignited something inside of me," she wrote.

Despite her frustrations, she expressed her appreciation to her fans, highlighting, "You all have given me the strength."

Rexha released I'm The Drama on June 27 and it focuses on embracing one's flaws and uniqueness.
