Alex Eala named WTA's 'Star of the Swing' for grass court season
Alex Eala continues to make waves on the international stage as she has been voted the WTA's "Star of the Swing" for the 2026 grass-court season.
She secured the title with 89% of the fan vote, ahead of world No. 7 and Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova and world No. 6 Karolína Muchová.
Eala, currently ranked No. 28, captured attention during Wimbledon with a viral horizontal forehand after slipping on the grass in her third-round clash with world No. 8 Iga Swiatek.
Her breakthrough run ended in the Round of 16, where she lost to Italy's Jasmine Paolini.
The 21-year-old Filipina kicked off her grass-court campaign with her second WTA 125 title at the Lexus Birmingham Open.
After Wimbledon, Eala will next compete in doubles with Venus Williams at the Mubadala DC Open, which takes place from July 25 to Aug. 2. The tournament's qualifying rounds are scheduled for July 25–26, with the main draw beginning on July 27.
