BLACKPINK's Rosé shuts down rumors of romantic relationship with Jaden Smith

BLACKPINK's Rosé has set the record straight about the inspiration for her song Toxic Till the End, denying that the song was not inspired by Jaden Smith, contrary to rumors.

The New Zealand and South Korean singer clarified this in a lie detector test interview with Vanity Fair,

"Your song Toxic Till the End is about a toxic [ex-boyfriend] of yours. Is the song inspired by Jaden Smith?" the interviewer asked.

The On The Ground singer responded, "No. Not about Jaden Smith. He’s a good friend though."

"Hi, Jaden. [I] miss you [a] lot," she added, which the lie detector test facilitator affirmed.

When asked if she had ever dated Smith, Rosé said she didn't. The test facilitator also confirmed that she was telling the truth.

The romantic allegations started when eagle-eyed fans noticed that the two performers were spotted hanging out in the past.

The Karate Kid actor and his sibling, Willow Smith, are friends with BLACKPINK members. For instance, they supported the K-pop girl group during their Coachella performance. Since then, they have interacted on several other occasions as well.

This is not the first time Rosé has been involved in dating rumors. She has also been associated with actor Kang Dong Won, Gossip Girl actor Evan Mock, Bruno Mars, who worked with her for APT, LANY's Paul Klein, and skateboarding coach Jason Choi.

Nonetheless, Rosé didn't confirm dating any of them.

Inspired by Rosé's past experiences in a toxic on-and-off relationship, Toxic Till the End was released on Dec. 6, 2024, through The Black Label and Atlantic Records as the third single from her debut studio album Rosie

The music video, which has gained over 66 million views as of this writing, starred Filipino-American model and actor Mock. It featured emo-pop and power-pop music blending with guitars and synths alongside emotionally raw lyrics.

In October 2024, the K-pop singer announced that she was releasing a solo album.

"I cannot believe I am finally announcing my first album release to you all. I remember last year as our year-long tour ended, I found myself in a session out here in Los Angeles. That led on to a year of walking in and out of the studio, writing songs with songwriters and producers I’d met for the first time, trying to figure out the next chapter in my career," she revealed in a past Instagram post.

The album, which includes APT, Number One Girl, and Toxic Till the End, marks Rosé's first solo release after departing from YG Entertainment alongside the other members of BLACKPINK. Although they renewed their contracts for group activities, they did not sign with the agency for their individual activities.
