BLACKPINK is set to continue its activities as a K-pop group with YG Entertainment.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Soompi, the talent agency announced the news on Dec. 6. “After careful discussions with BLACKPINK, we signed exclusive contracts for group activities based on deep trust,” it said in a statement.

Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment’s executive producer, expressed his happiness over the group’s decision. “We are happy to be able to continue our relationship with BLACKPINK,” he began.

“BLACKPINK will continue to do their best to shine even brighter in the global music market as artists representing not only our agency but also K-pop, and we send our unwavering support and faith for their future steps,” he added.

BLACKPINK, consisting of Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo, debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. They’re best known for their hit songs How You Like That, Kill This Love, and DDU-DU DDU-DU.

On top of their success as a group, BLACKPINK members are also shining on their own in their individual careers. Jennie made her solo debut with a single dubbed Solo in November 2018, while Lisa and Rosé released their solo music in 2021 with LALISA and On the Ground, respectively. Jisoo, meanwhile, made her solo debut in March this year.
