Sharon Cuneta surprises Kakie Pangilinan by bringing her Yaya Irish to her graduation ceremony in New York
Sharon Cuneta gave her daughter Kakie Pangilinan a heartwarming surprise during the latter's graduation day in New York.
The surprise isn't any material gift, but rather the presence of Kakie's very own Yaya Irish.
"We brought her with us because she has taken care of Kakie for years now and they are so close!" Cuneta said with three red heart emojis in an Instagram post.
One photo showed Kakie and Irish hugging each other, while another photo showed the former, with her eyes closed, slightly placing her head on the latter's shoulder.
The Megastar's followers couldn't help but feel awe over the wholesome moment.
"Awww so touching naman po. Yaya Irish and your family are lucky to have each other," one user said.
"Awww, what a sweet and loving family," another user said. "Congratulations to your daughter and to the proud parents for a job well done."
Sharon's celebrity friends also expressed their support.
"Love it! Congrats Kakie!" Beth Tamayo said.
"Congratulations our dearest kaki!! Mama j and popsy is soo sooo proud of you!! We love you!" Judy Ann Santos said.
In another post, Cuneta shared a family photo that included herself, husband Kiko Pangilinan, and Kakie and her siblings Miel and Miguel.
"Our fresh grad!!! (three red hearts emoji) May 16, 2025," she said, adding the hashtag #thenewschoolnyc.
Kakie went to college in New York in August 2019. In a vlog during that time, Cuneta said her daughter is going to a "progressive" school.
Kakie, in that vlog, said she would be taking a degree in writing and would probably have a minor in anthropology.
Kakie also opened up about considering to study in the Philippines but ultimately decided to do it abroad, saying it would allow her to become independent.
