SexBomb Jopay Paguia reacts to Alvin Aragon's religious tirades

Published Feb 20, 2026 12:43 pm

Jopay Paguia recently shared her thoughts about Alvin Aragon's explosive comments following the SexBomb Girls' series of concerts in early February.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Paguia said she holds no ill feelings against former SexBomb Izzy Trazona-Aragon, whose husband Alvin had some pointed words to say about the SexBomb Girls' way of dressing up, performing, among other things.

A self-professed Christian like Aragon and others in the SexBomb group, Paguia said if people want to be a disciple, they have to first set an example, which will manifest in how they engage with and affirm others.

She added that the platform Aragon chose to spread the word of God is a great way to reach people. But, according to her, he should have refrained from scolding them and warning them they'd be going to hell for their life choices.

"Ang pinaka-sad part at masakit na part doon for us, kaming mga SexBomb, is 'yung nag-name drop na siya. Nadamay na 'yung mga asawa namin," Paguia said, adding her husband Joshua has been a Christian longer than Aragon has.

"Never [si Joshua] nang-mock ng ibang tao. Si Lord nga hindi siya nanghusga, eh. Ang ginawa nga ni Lord, tumabi sa mga sinners, kinausap in a nice way," Paguia said. "Ang gusto ni Lord is love. Magkaisa tayo.

"'Yung mga sinabi niya, it's in the Bible naman talaga...Pero siguro for us...dapat careful tayo sa pagsabi kasi hindi naman lahat believers, eh.," Paguia said. "Meron kasing timing for that. And merong tamang salita kung paano mo siyang bibitawan."

Paguia maintained that the SexBomb Girls' talent in performing is a gift from the Lord, and that what they're doing is not wrong.

Masama po ba 'yung ginagawa ko pagsasayaw?" she said.

She added their costumes are the group's way of reaching Filipino audiences. Even performers in Broadway dance, Paguia added.

The dancer said she hasn't yet reached out to Trazona or Aragon, admitting to hurt feelings, especially because the latter dragged some of the SexBomb Girls and their husbands into the mess by name. She added, though, that if Aragon made a public apology or messaged those he hurt directly to apologize, that would be alright.

Aragon's remarks vs SexBomb

Trazona-Aragon made a surprise appearance during "rAWnd 5" of GET GET AW! The SexBomb Concert on Feb. 8.

Appearing in Boy Abunda's Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Feb. 10 and in DWAR Abante Radyo's Jugo Live! on Feb. 13, Aragon spoke against several controversial topics, including homosexuality and the SexBomb Girls' skimpy costumes.

Among the many bombshells he dropped were his views on the rumors that claimed he was the cause of his wife's resignation from the SexBomb Girls.

Sabi ng Lord kay Izzy, 'Come follow me, I will make you fishers of men.' Nag-obey si Izzy du'n," he said.

The former actor also touched on the traditional roles of husbands and wives.

"Sabi sa Bible, the wives must submit to the husband.

In the same vein, Aragon wondered aloud why some of theSexBomb Girls' husbands allowed them to go onstage in their skimpy outfits.

"Ano ba 'yung suot nila? I want to protect my wife. Ako lang titingin kasi ako ang husband," he said.

Aragon has yet to comment on the backlash as of writing. Trazona-Aragon, meanwhile, thanked her supporters amid the backlash her husband is receiving on social media.

"Salamat sa lahat ng pm and encouragement! God bless everyone," she wrote in a post. "It’s not easy for the whole family. but gumigising everyday by the strength that God gives. By grace na hindi naman namin deserve, but patuloy na kumakapit sa mga pangako ng Diyos. At patuloy na nakatingin sa ginawa ni Jesus to save sinners like us."

She went on to say that their family is "not perfect."

"Actually, the name of our GC sa Messenger is 'the imperfect family,' kaya ganon na lang ang pagkapit sa salita Niya. Kasi hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupulutin apart from His word," she added.
