TRENDING: Alvin Aragon gets backlash for anti-LGBTQ comments

Published Feb 16, 2026 12:07 pm

Former Starstruck talent Alvin Aragon received online backlash after he shared controversial anti-LGBTQ comments in a radio interview.

Speaking to DWAR Abante Radyo's Jigo Postolero in the latter's radio program Jugo Live! on Feb. 13, Aragon became clear about his opinion on members of the LGBTQ community.

Before he did, Postolero asked Aragon to trace the actor's journey to becoming a devout Christian.

Aragon, who became an orphan at 9 years old, grew up with his grandmother. Naging magnanakaw ako," he said.

In 2003, he entered showbiz as one of the aspirants in the first season of reality talent competition program StarStruck. Aragon was 14 then. I committed sexual immorality," Aragon said.

"Ganyan ang aking nakaraang buhay," Aragon said, who also shared he got into illegal drugs then and took up with a married but separated woman.

In 2009, someone invited Aragon to attend a Christian service in Ortigas. It was there that he met an individual who corrected his ways, he said.

He has since mended his ways. In 2012, he married former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona.

Aragon shared his opinions about homosexuality, mentioning Trazona's transgender daughter Sofia Trazona, her child with former partner Michael Navarro. Trazona is said to have a strained relationship with Sofia.

Hindi raw tinanggap kasi bading," said Aragon. "Totoo naman, eh. Ano ba sabi sa Bible? God judged the homosexuality. Read the Genesis 17, 18, and 19. Those men in Sodom and Gomorrah wants to have sex with other men. And God judged that Sodom and Gomorrah even until now."

God will throw you to hell if you continue to do homosexuality, mamuhay ka, and you don't want to believe in Jesus. I assure you God will throw you to hell if you don't stop, if you don't repent and believe in the gospel," he added.

On DWAR Abante Radyo's YouTube channel, numerous users left comments disagreeing with what Aragon said.

We forgive, understand and most of all, don't judge other people. This person is a disgrace to our community," wrote one user.

"Positioning yourself as morally superior is classic narcissism," said another.

"Red flag," another said simply.

There were others, though, who tried to give Aragon the benefit of the doubt.

"Hindi ko makita yung mali sa kanya... medyo mayabang yes... pero I see it as conviction. Maybe he is borderline fanatic pero he chose to be like this kasi," wrote one.

Just talk with love and humility, dude," wrote another YouTube user.

On why his wife left SexBomb Girls

Later on in the conversation, Aragon talked about his marriage with Trazona and the latter's decision to leave her girl group SexBomb Girls.

"Ngayon, family na kami. May nagbago nanaman. Pero this time, may asawa ka; you are the head of the family," Aragon said.

"Sabi sa Bible, the wives must submit to the husband.

According to him, some people blamed him for Trazona's absence at the SexBomb Girls' Feb. 6 concert. He said the timelines didn't match.

Sabi ng Lord kay Izzy, 'Come follow me, I will make you fishers of men.' Nag-obey si Izzy du'n," Aragon said.

The actor relayed how his wife explained her resignation from the group to Joy Cancio, founder and manager of SexBomb Girls. It wasn't Trazona's relationship or money matters that pushed her to resign but, "'Yung pangalan po namin, 'yung damit po namin, at 'yung sayaw namin," Aragon recalled his wife telling Cancio.

"Ano ba'ng mali sa pangalan? SexBomb. Ano ba 'yung sex... Sex is actually created by God na ginagamit ng... husband and wives, not girlfriend-boyfriend, at hindi dapat isipin ng bata agad 'yon," Aragon said.

He also explained what was wrong with skimpy costumes. If you look lustfully at the woman, you are already committing adultery in your heart," Aragon said.

"Ano pa? Sayaw. Iba nararamdaman natin. Alam niyo 'yan, men. So umiwas si Izzy doon," he added.

Earlier in the week, Trazona and Aragon were guests at Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where Trazona recalled how she decided to accept an invitation to the SexBomb Girls' show.

According to her, she asked permission from Aragon to attend the concert. Her husband was initially hesitant to allow her to go because "noong sinabi niya sa 'kin na magshe-share siya ng love ni Jesus sa concert. So hindi madali 'yon na desisyon. Ang dami kasing tao, eh. MOA Arena is 15,000 na capacity," Aragon said.

He took some time to pray over it, he said, and was finally convinced "na ito, guidance ng Panginoon sa kanya. O sige, hon, I support you," Aragon continued.
