Joj and Jai Agpangan mistaken for 4th Impact members: 'Hindi kami 'yung sa shih tzu... dalawang impact lang kami'

Celebrity twins Joj and Jai Agpangan were mistakenly identified as members of the local girl group 4th Impact, which recently drew flak for its fundraising campaign for the creation of a “dreamland” for over 200 dogs.

In a TikTok video screen-recorded by a user, Joj and Jai were live-selling flavored popcorn when two users commented how irresponsible they were as pet owners.

"SANA IPA-adopt NIYO NA LANG YUNG MGA SHI[H] TZU,” one user said.

"Pakawalan nyo ang mga shi[h] tzu,” another user said.

After Joj and Jai saw the comments, they quickly dismissed the comments.

“Hindi nga kami ‘to. Hindi kami ‘yung sa shih tzu. Hindi kami ‘yung sa 4th Impact. Joj and Jai po kami,” they said. “Guys, ano ba ‘yan, maawa naman kayo. Nag-aassume kayo nang iba-iba.”

The twins poked fun at how there’s just the two of them.

“Dalawang impact lang kami, nakikita niyo ba” they said before laughing. “Nakakaloka kayo, guys.”

Joj and Jai noted how much of a dog lover they are.

They encouraged the public to just buy their products instead of stressing themselves.

4th Impact—comprising sisters Elvira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado—has been in hot water after putting up a GoFundMe page titled “Farm Lot for our 200 Shih Tzu dogs” on Feb. 28, with the intent to help them relocate their scores of pooches to a new home.

Their total target for donations was $10,000 (P560,275) and they managed to reach P46,200 on March 2 before getting deleted.

Users pointed out that they’re irresponsible owners for allowing the dogs to multiply to 200 and stressing that "backyard breeding" is against Philippine law.

Section 2 of the Animal Welfare Act states that no persons, association, partnership, corporation, cooperative, or any government agency or instrumentality in the country "shall establish, maintain, and operate any pet shop, kennel, veterinary clinic, veterinary hospital, stockyard, corral, stud farm or zoo for the breeding, treatment, sale or trading, or training of animals without first securing from the Bureau of Animal Industry a certificate of registration."

Such a certificate will only be issued to establishments if they are "adequate, clean, and sanitary and will not be used for, nor cause pain and/or suffering to the animals."

4th Impact rose to fame after joining the reality competition The X Factor UK in 2015, finishing among the Top 5. Its hits include All At Once, Here We Go, Leave the Door, and Pasulyap-sulyap.

Joj and Jai, meanwhile, became known after serving as housemates of Pinoy Big Brother: Teens Edition 4 in 2012. They starred in Forevermore and Maalaala Mo Kaya. They’re also brand ambassadors of several products.
