Bugoy Cariño, EJ Laure tie the knot in intimate wedding in Cavite
Bugoy Cariño and EJ Laure are officially husband and wife after they tied the knot in a Church wedding in Cavite on March 9.
On his Facebook page, Cariño shared a glimpse of the intimate ceremony held at the St. John Marie Vianney Parish Church in Silang, Cavite, which was attended by the couple's nearest and dearest including actor-performer Zeus Collins, internet personality Trixie Lalaine, his former Goin’ Bulilit co-star Casey de Silva, among others.
For his attire, Cariño chose to wear a dark green suit and pants on top of a white polo. He paired these with a silver bow tie, some brooch accessories, and a flower on his lapel.
He later walked down the church aisle with his mother on one arm while he held a standee of his late father in the other. The two couldn't help but get emotional as Laure started to make her way toward them.
The volleyball player wore an off-shoulder wedding gown and a veil with some leaf and vine patterns.
After finishing their wedding vows, the longtime couple sealed the deal with a romantic kiss, earning cheers from their friends and family.
Cariño proposed to Laure during his 21st birthday back in September 2023.
In 2020, the two opened up about how they had a daughter together named Scarlet. They previously denied pregnancy rumors due to backlash from the public about how Cariño was still a minor at 15 years old at the time while Laure was already an adult at age 20.
However, the actor stressed in an interview with Karen Davila that he really loves Laure and that he wanted her to be a part of his life.
"Gusto ko maging masaya na lang. Gusto ko na maging parte ng buhay ko si EJ…. Sobrang mahal ko si EJ," he said.
"Hindi ako masisisi ng tao. Hindi masisisi si EJ ng mga tao kung bakit hindi namin napigilan ang sarili. Ako po talaga ang may gusto kay EJ. Kaya sabi ko sa kanya, ‘wag mo na pansinin. Pagdating naman ng panahon, wala na ‘yan eh. Magbabago na din isip nila," he added.
