Gillian Vicencio breaks silence on rumored involvement in KathNiel's split

Kapamilya star Gillian Vicencio addressed the accusations that she was a third party in Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's relationship.

"'Wag niyo po ako idamay dito, hindi po totoo," the actress wrote on X without naming anyone and specifying the issue.

"Bigyan naman po natin sila ng respeto," she continued.

This comes days after Gillian's name got dragged into the KathNiel split when they confirmed they've decided to part ways via separate posts on Instagram. Social media users alleged that she had a secret romance with Daniel during the run of their television series 2 Good 2 Be True, where she starred alongside the former couple.

The actress previously denied the romance speculations in an interview in August this year, stressing that she and Daniel are just friends. "Wala talaga," she said. "Hindi ko talaga alam saan nanggagaling 'yung mga sabi-sabi."

Aside from 2 Good 2 Be True, Gillian was also part of the 2023 film A Very Good Girl, which Kathryn top-billed with Dolly de Leon.

Andrea Brillantes has also been linked to Daniel since talent manager Ogie Diaz said that an insider told him that she's been meeting with the actor in secret. While she has yet to comment on the rumor, she unfollowed Kathryn on Instagram amid the issue. Kathryn and some of her friends in showbiz also did the same.

ABS-CBN and Star Magic, in a statement released on Dec. 2, asked the public to stop making fake news in line with KathNiel's breakup. “Let’s respect their statements and refrain from adding more to what was already said or create fake news,” they said. "We ask everyone to respect them and allow them to heal and move on."

Kathryn and Daniel debuted as a love team in 2011 for the teleserye Growing Up and have since starred in more shows and movies. They confirmed their relationship in 2018.
