ILLIT to make a comeback mid-June
We're trying to keep our cool: ILLIT is making a comeback!
An exclusive report from IZE reveals that ILLIT is preparing to make its return in mid-June.
ILLIT’s agency, BELIFT LAB, confirmed the news, saying they will "reveal the exact details at a later date."
This will be ILLIT's first comeback in approximately eight months, since their second mini album I’LL LIKE YOU dropped last October. The group will also be holding its first fan concert, “GLITTER DAY,” in Seoul on June 7 and 8.
ILLIT, composed of Yunah, Moka, Minju, Iroha, and Wonhee, debuted in March 2024 with an EP dubbed Super Real Me that included their hit track Magnetic.
Shortly after their debut, they were embroiled in a plagiarism issue after Min Hee Jin, former head of ADOR, released a lengthy statement, slamming HYBE for allowing Belift Lab's ILLIT to copy K-pop girl group NewJeans in terms of music and concept.
"ILLIT is copying NewJeans in all aspects of entertainment activities, including hair, makeup, clothing, choreography, photos, videos, and event appearances,” she said, as reported by Korean outlet Soompi.
The situation worsened when ILLIT's manager was accused of telling the members to "ignore" Hanni from NewJeans.
Belift Lab denied the accusations, saying that the claims made by Hee Jin were "entirely false."
The initial trial for the damages lawsuit filed by Belift Lab against Hee Jin was held on Jan. 10 at the Seoul Western District Court.
