Danica Sotto has addressed the past cheating issue involving her husband basketball player Marc Pingris and actress Kim Rodriguez.

The celebrity mom of three shared her side of the story in her interview with showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas.

Danica said she first thought she would no longer address the cheating allegations of her husband moving on, but she eventually decided to speak up to give the public clarity.

ICYDK, at the height of the issue, Danica posted a quote about betrayal and loyalty on her Instagram, which the public immediately assumed was about Marc’s alleged cheating.

However, she clarified that the quote was about someone who betrayed them in business.

“I post because I like the quote or sometimes, noong time na iyon, aaminin ko, it was a feeling that I was feeling about someone else na parang napipikon ako sa isang tao. And that is a person na nangloko sa amin sa negosyo. A person we truly trusted,” she said, adding that they are still going through a major business challenge up to this date.

“This tabloid, ang ginawa, kinuha ‘yung quote ko na ‘yun. Sinabi na I'm confirming daw the issue kasi pinapatamaan ko daw si Marc. Pero hindi na ako nagsalita,” she said.

Danica recalled the time when she and Marc talked about it, with the latter advising her to refrain from posting quotes that might get misinterpreted by the public.

For her part, she advised her husband: “Pinagsabihan ko lang siya na, ingat sa mga nakakasama, ingat sa mga pinupuntahan. Minsan kasi sa'yo wala lang ‘yun, you're too friendly or, hindi friendly, accommodating, ‘di ba? ‘Yung parang, oh, ito chika-chika. Ganoon naman mga basketball player e.”

She added that such interactions are often being misinterpreted by the public and are used to create an issue and make malicious speculations.

Danica, who has been exposed to showbiz growing up, said that she’s used to rumors but can’t help but feel frustrated when her children are being involved.

“Syempre, napikon ako pag anak mo na ‘yung tinitira. May sasabihin na masama, na very very foul,” she said. “I think 'yung foul doon is parang may mga sinabi na it's the karma of my parents. ‘Yung ganoon.”

She added, “Ang rude. ‘Di ba na parang dahil sa mga kasalanan ng mga magulang kaya nagsasabi. Parang gusto kong sabihin, first of all, mali ang statement na ‘yan. And pangalawa, hindi niyo alam ‘yung buong story. Nag-speculate na kayo hindi niyo alam kung anong totoo at hindi.”

Kim and Marc became the subject of cheating allegations in March after an individual shared photos of them taken in similar locations.

Pingris has denied the cheating rumors, stressing that there is no truth to them and that everything is well with his family with Danica Sotto.

“Walang katotohanan ang mga lumalabas na balita tungkol sa amin ni Ms. Kim Rodriguez," he said. "Walang namamagitan sa aming dalawa gaya ng sinasabi ng ibang tao."

Pingris noted that he spent time with Rodriguez during a basketball game and another event when she served as his team's muse.

"Ok kami ng pamilya ko. Wag na po tayo magpakalat ng mga balita na hindi totoo. Humihingi po kami ng respeto para hindi madamay ang mga anak namin ni Danica,” he added.

Kim also denied the rumors through her manager, Showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz.
