'90 Day Fiance' star Mary Denucciõ backtracks on claim she has colon cancer

"I made a mistake and I'm just human."

These were the words of 90 Day Fiance star Mary Denucciõ who admitted that her claim of being diagnosed with colon cancer was all trumped up.

The 23-year-old Filipina made the announcement on social media on Wednesday, Feb. 21, saying that it was just a result of her panic attack and that she's "very sorry about it."

She wrote, "I just want to say sorry [to] everyone. I posted saying I have colon cancer. I made a mistake and I'm just a human. I'm very sorry everyone. Because when the doctor told me I [had a] colon issue I thought that [meant] I have colon cancer. I got [an] anxiety attack and I thought I [had] colon cancer and posted it without thinking."

Mary continued to apologize and pleaded with the public to spare her from all the hate: "It’s my fault and I'm very sorry about it. But please stop harassing me and wishing me to die. I’m just [human]. I’m in pain right now and the pain won’t go away. I kept throwing up and I [felt] so weak. The doctor says my liver is inflamed and I have [a] blood infection, UTI, and hemorrhoids. We are still waiting for another laboratory test for my colon.

"Again I'm very sorry I made a mistake announcing I have colon cancer," she continued. "I just thought I have colon cancer because [the] doctor said I have [an] issue with my colon and they need to check it. I’m very sorry I panicked and I got anxiety."

Mary announced that she is coping with the fatal disease on a GoFundMe page she put up over the weekend. According to PEOPLE, Mary wrote that she had been "diagnosed with colon cancer" on Feb. 16 after experiencing symptoms back in high school, which she thought was "normal."

Mary's husband and fellow 90 Day Fiance star Brandan shared the fundraising page on his Instagram Story with the caption, "I [am humbly] asking for your financial help for Mary's surgery to remove her colon cancer. We need help not judgments. Any amount will help Mary and save her life."

Mary, meanwhile, admitted that she's "scared of the surgery after my C-section" to deliver her daughter Midnight in August of last year. However, her doctor advised that the cancer needs to be "removed before it's too late."

PEOPLE reported that Mary said she's the "only one working in the family" which is why she needs financial support.

However, many social media users doubted the couple's claim which led to their GoFundMe campaign being halted, with the page stating that "GoGetFunding has been requested or required to stop this campaign."

While it was unclear who between the couple or GoGetFunding took the page down, a representative of the fundraising platform told TMZ that it was them who stopped the campaign. They deemed it necessary after receiving reports from users that the campaign was suspicious. The page has reportedly amassed $1,300 (P72,600) before it was shut down.

Mary and Brandon got married in July 2023 and the ceremony was aired during season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way late last year. The couple welcomed their daughter before tying the knot.
