Did Kylie Padilla throw shade at ex Aljur Abrenica, who's running for Angeles councilor?
Did Kylie Padilla throw shade at her ex-husband Aljur Abrenica?
On Oct. 7, the actor filed his certificate of candidacy for councilor in Angeles in Pampanga.
Abrenica is under the party of former police chief Oscar Albayalde, who's running for mayor in Angeles.
The city's incumbent mayor, Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr., is seeking to become Pampanga 1st District's representative.
Hours later, Padilla, the daughter of action star-turned-senator Robin Padilla, wrote a cryptic Facebook post that talks about the qualities of a great leader.
In her post, Padilla, without naming anyone, said a "good indicator of a great leader is a man who can lead his family."
"That is his first unit, his first community," she said. "A man who raises his kids with good values, integrity and humility. A man loyal to his wife and remains true despite obstacles. A man who has a heart close to God."
"Service is about what you can do for others, not what they can do for you," Padilla added.
Her post has over 50,000 reactions, 2,600 comments, and 3,600 comments to date.
Padilla and Abrenica got married in 2018 and separated in 2021. They have two children together.
In July 2021, Padilla announced that she and Abrenica have broken up. Abrenica was immediately linked to starlet AJ Raval, his co-star in the VivaMax movie Nerisa, which was released in the same month.
Raval was accused of being a third party, which she strongly denied. Even Padilla herself clarified later on that Raval had nothing to do with the breakup.
Abrenica and Raval went Instagram official on Valentine's Day in 2023. By the end of February, Padilla said she and Abrenica are still finalizing their annulment.
They're already on good terms, she said, and have agreed to co-parent their kids.
In April of that year, Abrenica admitted to cheating on Padilla, which led to their separation.
Last July, Padilla confirmed that she is in a relationship with a non-showbiz guy.
