Derek Ramsay reveals Ellen Adarna suffered miscarriage

Derek Ramsay revealed that his wife, Ellen Adarna, lost their first baby this year.

"A great gift for her mom and to us and then nu'ng pauwi, nag-i-spotting na siya, and eventually, we lost the pregnancy," the actor said during the media conference for his upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Kampon.

Derek shared that while they were recently in Madrid for his mother's birthday celebration, Ellen—who never misses her monthly period—realized she was running behind schedule and decided to take a pregnancy test.

"We knew something was up and she got herself tested while we were there, so she was positive," he explained.

The 47-year-old actor assured that his wife is healthy and he hopes to have a baby next year.

"It was very early on in the pregnancy," he noted "But she’s okay. Hindi niya kailangang magpa-confine, or magparaspa, whatsoever. So, hopefully next year, makabuo na uli kami."

"First attempt pa lang naman, so at least we know that we can still have a baby in the future. It's sad that we lost the baby so may possibility pa rin na makabuo," he explained while noting that he is still happy despite the worries he felt that they might not have a baby due to his age.

"I guess worry lang kasi nagtatry-try pa kasi kakatanggal lang ng IUD niya, then look nakabuo na kaagad."

The couple have been married for a year. They exchanged "I Do's"in a mountain resort in Bagac, Bataan, on Nov. 11 last year and "got married again" in a Peruvian despacho ceremony led by a local shaman during their first anniversary.

Meanwhile, Ellen shares a son, Elias, with her ex-boyfriend, John Lloyd Cruz.
