Get to know Joheirry Mola Dominguez, the new Miss World 2026
Meet the newest Miss World.
Joheirry Mola Dominguez was named Miss World 2026 during the pageant's grand finals in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Sept. 5, besting 110 other candidates.
Even before bagging the highly coveted blue crown, Dominguez's journey has been defined by her commitment to education, communication, and community work.
Here are some things you should know about the newly crowned Miss World.
A Literature and Social Studies teacher
Dominguez holds a degree in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and works as a Literature and Social Studies teacher. She teaches the subjects in English, using her classroom experience to encourage critical thinking among children.
Her experience as an educator also ties closely to her advocacy for expanding educational opportunities for children and young people, particularly those from vulnerable communities.
A news correspondent
Outside the classroom, Dominguez has also built experience in broadcast and reporting. She serves as a correspondent for Univision New York’s Ventana a Quisqueya, where she covers Dominican culture, social issues, and stories involving the community.
She has also taken on on-camera reporting roles, including covering major events in the Dominican Republic. In 2026, she delivered a live pre-show report for Univision at Premios Soberano and covered press conferences ahead of the awards.
She also served as a reporting correspondent for Univision during UNICEF’s Together For Children Telethon, where she interviewed organizers and participants, monitored telephone donations, and helped promote the fundraising effort.
Voices of Tomorrow founder
One of Dominguez's main advocacies is Voices of Tomorrow, an initiative she founded and leads to expand access to English education and opportunities for young people in vulnerable communities.
The project forms a major part of her work as a "Beauty with a Purpose" advocate, with Dominguez using education to help kids build confidence and create opportunities for themselves.
Dominguez's personal motto reflects the values behind her advocacy: “The greatest gift you can offer is the opportunity that you once needed yourself in order to grow, move forward, and transform your life.”
A professional model
Beauty and brains! Did you know that Dominguez is also a professional model?
Her official Miss World profile lists modeling among her professional pursuits, alongside her work as an educator and correspondent.
A total of 111 candidates competed for the 73rd Miss World title. Dominguez was followed by Spain's Elisabeth Reynés Alabern (1st runner-up) and Malaysia's Taanusiya Chetty (2nd runner-up). Philippines' Asia Rose Simpson, meanwhile, finished in the Top 12 of the competition.
