'Thank you, World, for making me who I am today': Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand takes final walk as Miss World 2025
Towards the end of the Miss World 2026 pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam, Miss World 2025 titleholder, Thailand's Suchata Chuangsri, took her final walk across the stage in a stunning strapless white gown with a long train.
In her farewell speech, Chuangsri thanked the designer of her dress, Her Royal Highness Princess Yuan Wari, the daughter of His Majesty King Rama X. The princess is known internationally as a fashion designer. Chuangsri also referred to her as her "biggest mentor."
The Miss World titlist began her speech by thanking everyone who "stood by my side the whole year, who restored the faith in my life in so many aspects, and who gave me hope and allowed me to represent my country and the world."
Chuangsri recalled her first year in her Miss World journey.
"I didn't know what to do. I was struggling. I didn't know where to go or what to say. But I reminded myself of the life cycle of a butterfly," she said.
"When the cocoon thinks that the world is over, she became a butterfly, and she flew high," Chuangsri continued. "And it also reminded me of the butterfly effect. Because a lot of times during my reign, I [had] so much doubt in my mind whether what I'm doing is right or is really creating an impact [on] people around the world.
"But you'll never know that something you're doing today, that you might think it's a little thing; one day, it could impact the whole world. And one day it could come back to impact your life as well," she said.
Chuangsri then addressed her successor: "We will always be by your side as a family."
She reminisced about the moment the Miss World crown touched her head.
"I thought, 'How special it is that the past Miss Worlds have worn this crown and [did] all the good things for this world and left their legacy in this crown."
"And now I'm one of them; and you will be one of them, too. Welcome to the family," Chuangsri said.
She ended her speech full of gratitude: "Thank you, World, for making me who I am today."
A total of 111 candidates competed for the 73rd Miss World title, which eventually went to the Dominican Republic's Joheirry Mola Dominguez. Spain's Elisabeth Reynés Alabern won 1st runner-up, while Malaysia's Taanusiya Chetty won 2nd runner-up. Philippines' Asia Rose Simpson finished in the Top 12 of the competition.
