Bea Alonzo is thrilled after taking the theater stage for the first time

Bea Alonzo has finally made her theater debut!

On her Instagram, the actress shared her joy forplaying the role of Elsa Montes in Ang Larawan musical concert held last Saturday, May 6 at the Metropolitan Theater. 

"In my theater era," she said. "I truly enjoyed performing on stage last night for the first time with the best people in the industry."

Bea—who shared the stage with Markki Stroem, Aicelle Santos, Kakai Bautista, and Kakki Teodora—also honored her co-artists, noting how they preserve the country’s culture and arts with their craft. 

“I greatly respect everything they do to preserve the Philippines’ culture and arts,” she concluded, with hashtags #ContraMundum and #NationalHeritageMonth. 

Fellow celebrities like Dimples Romana, Agot Isidro, Julie Anne San Jose, and Karylle celebrated her feat.  

In a separate Instagram post, style icon Heart Evangelista also complimented her, writing: “You were amazing.” 

The “Ang Larawan: The Concert” was part of the year-long celebration of The Order of National Artists of the Philippines. It was produced by Girlie Rodis and Aaron Velasco, with Ryan Cayabyab as the musical director. Joining Bea in the cast were veteran actors Mitch Valdez, Bituin Escalante. and Nonie Buencamino. 

The concert is based on a 2017 musical film with the same title, which starred Joanna Ampil, Rachel Alejandro, and Paulo Avelino.
