The cast of Stranger Things bid farewell to their roles after they finished filming the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series.

Several cast members took to their respective Instagram accounts to pen heartfelt messages to their fans and reflect on their roles after being a part of the show for nearly 10 years.

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, said that he is "still in shock" after they finally wrapped up filming on Dec. 20.

"We shot it for a year and I’ll miss all of my friends and our characters terribly," he said.

Finn shared that when he thinks of Stranger Things, he pictures a photo of him and his fellow cast members posing as their characters—a "bunch of goofy young people making something they think is cool but really have no clue what’s to come."

"I feel like we’re still those people and I’m lucky to still stand beside them today. I hope you’ll love this season as much as I do. See you all next year," the actor said.

His co-star Millie Bobby Brown kept her goodbyes short and sweet as she shared a several pictures of her time as Eleven behind the scenes with the caption, "with love, el."

Noah Schnapp, who portrays Will Byers, highlighted how he is "feeling very emotional" over having closed this chapter in his life.

"I can’t help but be forever grateful for the incredible people that I’ve met and valuable life/career lessons I learned through this decade journey," he said.

He went on to list down 10 valuable lessons he had learned from the people around him, such as how "it’s okay to be meticulous about creating perfect moments" and being "professional while building genuine, family-like connections."

"Growing up I always felt like an outcast, unsure of where I fit in. Navigating life in the spotlight while carrying this feeling, through every awkward phase and embarrassing moment exposed for the world to see, has definitely been an unusual experience," Noah wrote.

"But I’ve been honored to share it with my incredible co-stars, who understand it in a way that no one else can," he continued.

He underscored how Stranger Things was "more than a job" for him.

"It was a lifelong dream. A dream made reality thanks to the [Duffer Brothers]. Thank you for taking a chance on me when I was just a 10 year old kid and entrusting me with something so important to you both," the actor said.

"Together, this cast and crew has built something so very special, and I couldn’t be any more excited for the world to see the final chapter. Stranger Things is a never ending story for me – it’s in my heart forever," he ended.

The final season of Stranger Things is set to be released sometime in 2025.

The series first premiered on Netflix in 2016 and quickly rose to fame because of its story, which centers around a human experimentation facility opening a gateway between an alternate dimension called the Upside Down and the normal world. This then starts to affect the unwitting residents of Hawkins in calamitous ways.
