Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste revealed that Kris Aquino is “still coping with the treatments” for her battle against multiple autoimmune diseases, which she previously said have worsened in the last weeks.

Leviste made the health update during the opening of the Barako Festival held on Thursday, March 14 in Lipa, Batangas. He added that the “Queen of All Media” had to postpone her scheduled hospital confinement in Los Angeles due to the COVID alerts in the medical facilities.

“While I was still there, nagkaroon ng COVID alert sa mga medical facilities that’s why I decided to go home first kasi waiting time,” he said. “But anytime that she needs me to be in Los Angeles, of course, I’ll give it my utmost priority,” he assured.

The politician emphasized that although he ensures to fulfill all his responsibilities as the vice governor of Batangas, he made it clear that he wouldn't hesitate to fly to Los Angeles if Kris were to need him.

“Siyempre, may mga responsibilidad din naman ako dito, kaya kailangang mag-trabaho rin at mag-lingkod sa lalawigan,” he said. “But as I've said, isang tawag lang, mabilis pa ‘ko sa alas kuwatro na darating sa Los Angeles,” he quipped.

Leviste further shared that he, as well as Kris’ sisters and friends, are taking turns in taking care of her. He added that if there isn’t an emergency, he will visit her again after the holy week.

“Nagsasalitan din kami ng mga sisters niya, ng ibang kaibigan, para hindi sabay-sabay rin [sa pagbisita]. That way, we are assured that madam is in good company other than the company of course of Bimb,” he continued.

When discussing Kris’ sons, he mentioned that Josh is currently in the Philippines, while Bimb resides with his mother, whom he praised for acting “Very responsible for his age” and “takes good care of his mom like no other.”

When asked how he copes with her condition, especially considering that the next six months of her treatments will be crucial, Leviste expressed his immense gratitude for the prayers they receive for her recovery.

“Of course, her condition is critical pero sa awa ng Diyos, nairaraos. Malaking bagay ‘yung mga panalangin na ipinapaabot natin sa kaniya,” he continued, and then asked fans to continue to pray for the betterment of her health. “Your prayers go a very very long way.”

Leviste concluded his interview with a brief message of the “Queen of All Media”, “I miss you and I always pray for you, and I love you. Alam mo ‘yan.”

The multimedia icon is currently battling five life-threatening autoimmune diseases, and has been undergoing treatment at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles since June 2022.

She recently provided a health update during a Zoom interview with "King of Talk" Boy Abunda on Wednesday, Feb. 14, mentioning that her condition has begun to affect her heart in addition to her allergies to many medications.

Leviste and Aquino first sparked dating rumors in January last year when the politician shared an Instagram post revealing that they had welcomed 2023 together, with him affectionately calling her 'the Queen' in the caption.

However, their relationship has since been on-and-off, with Aquino announcing that they have split once again due to the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship.
