Heart Evangelista is putting her artistic skills to good as she sold one of her hand-painted bags for a whopping price and donated the profit to the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI).

According to Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the actress sold her white and orange Hermès bag that she decorated with her hand-painting of a woman for P1.5 million. Instead of keeping her earnings from the sale, she turned over all of the proceeds to the SSFI, which she now leads as its president.

Kat Pimentel and Nancy dela Rosa, wives of Senators Koko Pimentel and Bato dela Rosa, respectively, received the donation and expressed their gratitude towards her for the generous aid.

"Thank you, thank you very much president Heart for your generous personal donation for SSFI. This will really go a long way and help a lot of underprivileged Filipino people and this is a good gesture and token na within our Senate Spouse organization, may nagdo-donate sa loob mismo," Kat said, as seen in a video posted by Heart's hairstylist Ghil Sayo.

Aside from her acting talent and eye for fashion, the local star is also famous for her skill in painting. She's known as Love Marie—her real name—in the art scene, having painted bags for fellow personalities like Kim Chiu, Carla Abellana, and Jinkee Pacquiao.

Her art reportedly costs P100,000 per piece, and it still doesn't include the cost of the bag.

Heart was officially established as the new president of the SSFI after her oath-taking on June 5.

"As I stand side by side with these men and women—my fellow spouses and officials who were involved in SSFI long before me, I could not help but be grateful for welcoming and supporting me in this challenging journey ahead," said Heart, who is the wife of current Senate President Chiz Escudero.

"As I have said during our very first meeting, l am ready to honor the challenge of working together to find ways to uplift our people and our communities," she added.

Heart assumed the position after Chiz was appointed as the new Senate President. She replaced Audrey Tan Zubiri, the outgoing president of the group and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri's spouse.
