Fellow beauty queens express support for Shaila Rebortera after speaking up on alleged abusive relationship with Rob Gomez

Former beauty queen Shaila Rebortera received some love from her pageant sisters after speaking up on the abuse she allegedly experienced while she was in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, actor Rob Gomez.
In a lengthy post on Instagram on Sunday, Aug. 13, the Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 titleholder—who shares a child with Rob—said that she’s happy to finally be able to speak her truth after being silent about their alleged abusive relationship for over a year.
Apart from having other girls open up about “the same physical, verbal, and emotional abuse” they supposedly suffered from Rob after her revelation, her fellow beauty queens also expressed their support and reminded her that she’s not alone in this fight.
“Sending love and prayers to you and your baby Doc [Shaila]. We love you and support you!” said Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez.
Ganiel Krishnan, who won Miss World Philippines (MWP) 2nd Princess in 2021 but later resigned, pointed out that Shaila she did the right thing. “Your daughter is gonna thank you one day.”
MUPh 2021 second runner-up Steffi Aberasturi and Miss Eco International 2018 Thia Thomalia expressed their pride for Shaila for speaking up on the matter.
MWP 2022 Gwendolyne Furnoil, Miss Supranational Philippines 2021 Dindi Pajares, and MUPh 2022 second runner-up Kat Llegado also reminded her that they are right by her side during this trying time.
“It breaks my heart to see this knowing that you are way beyond those people who caused you this. It takes courage to step out of faith and I admire you for doing so. Know that God sees everything and there’s always a room for these kinds of people,” Binibining Pilipinas 2023 candidate Lea Macapagal commented on the same thread.
“Keep fighting, Shai. We’re with you in this fight. Just call me if you need anything,” Miss World Philippines 2021 titleholder Tracy Maureen Perez said, as translated from Cebuano to English.
Shaila shared photos of her bruises on social media early this month without mentioning how she got them. She tagged Rob in her post, but deleted it shortly.
“Just hours after the photos of the bruises were uploaded, his mother asked for me to say sorry in exchange for being able to stay with them. I decided to leave,” she said in the same statement.
The beauty queen-turned-dentist thanked everyone who has helped her and supported her in their own ways. “I am grateful to everyone who has shown me support and has helped me get back on my feet. To those who messaged me to let me know I’m not alone, thank you.”
I know I should have spoken sooner, but the next best time is now,” she added.
PhilSTAR L!fe has reached out to Rob Gomez and his management for comment, but has yet to receive a reply.
